Once, the knowledge and understanding one might attain in life was dependent on the status of their birth. Today, it is readily available to all…though so, too, is distraction.
Thus, today, ignorance is a choice.
Sometimes beauty cannot be fully appreciated
Until seen in its proper setting
To control the behavior of others is far less remarkable than to control the behavior of oneself.
Any simple tyrant can exert control over others without any personal inconvenience whatsoever. Controlling the self, on the other hand, always requires enormous sacrifice and self-abnegation.
To accept but one lie is to destabilize all of its many connected truths
No one becomes great
Without first becoming helpful
Sharing our possessions divides
Sharing our knowledge multiplies
Life is its hardest when you’re not yourself
There are many beautiful things that surround us at all times
But they only become visible when the light shines upon them
There is never enough time to do all the good that you imagine.
So surrender that, and simply do what you can.
If you lack anything that you love more than yourself
Then you lack any reason to reject your most selfish desires
